Running in the winter

As for running in the winter, the most important thing is to wear the right clothes.

You have to cover your head with a warm hat and have good running shoes. As for what else to wear, you need thermal clothing, it is recommended not to wear clothing that absorbs a lot of your sweat. This is because the more wet your clothes are, dictates the more cold you become.

I preferred tight black running pants and a long sleeved thermal shirt. Under Armour has clothing especially for this type of activity. Something that I really like is that these clothes are not made in China, but made in a Hispanic country, meaning that the material is better and stronger. With these tight pants  and long sleeve shirts, I just need to add a warm hat, light gloves and a sweatshirt and with that I can run at temperatures up to about 10 below zero. If there is snow or ice on sidewalks, I suggest wearing running shoes with little spikes that are attached to the soles of the running shoes. These are recommended because when there is some snow or ice on the sidewalks the spikes help you keep balance so you do not slip while running.

One of the best places to shop running gear is Sport Chek:
